Advocate for Overdose Prevention Centers

The overdose crisis and fentanyl have brought deep pain to our loved ones, families, and communities. It doesn’t have to be this way—there are practical health solutions at our disposal that are already working to keep people alive and safe. We need your help showing communities back and support them.

Overdose prevention centers (OPCs) save lives. Trained staff respond immediately to an overdose at its earliest signs, bringing people off the streets and into settings where care is accessible. This practical health intervention is often someone’s first step toward stability and connecting with treatment, housing, and essential health and social services.

In 2021, OnPoint NYC opened the first two recognized overdose prevention centers in the U.S. A third OPC opened in Providence, Rhode Island in 2025. Since then, these centers have prevented thousands of overdoses.

This common-sense health service is needed now more than ever. Sign up to become an advocate for overdose prevention centers today.
