Don’t Let the DEA Ban Kratom
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is gearing up to ban the medicinal plant kratom and criminalize the millions of Americans who rely on it. Kratom is a plant in the coffee family used for centuries in Southeast Asia, and many people in the U.S. use it to overcome addiction, chronic pain and other difficult-to-treat conditions.
But after months of counterproductive and misleading claims, the FDA has recommended that the DEA criminalize kratom. It’s only a matter of time before the DEA tries to move forward.
The DEA already tried this in 2016 – but, in a show of force, advocates like you galvanized Members of Congress and compelled the DEA to back down. Now we need you to fight back again. Tell Congress to stand against attempts to criminalize kratom.
