End drug war-fueled police militarization

Tell Congress to Act Right Now

The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act is moving quickly in Congress, but it does not go nearly far enough to end drug war-fueled police militarization.

The bill includes reforms to ban no-knock warrants for drug cases, restrict programs giving military equipment to local police departments, prohibit chokeholds, document police misconduct and use-of-force, and help end racial profiling.

But it fails to fully address the practices that are disproportionately used against people of color in drug investigations.

Tell Congess to strengthen it by banning quick-knock raids, ending programs that allow militarized policing, and shifting funding for the drug war and law enforcement to community resources and services.
