It’s Time for Congress to End the Federal War on Marijuana

Move Marijuana Legalization Forward Nationwide

Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Cory Gardner (R-CO) just announced the STATES Act, the Senate’s first-ever bipartisan bill that would protect states that legalize marijuana. A companion bill was also announced in the House by Representatives David Joyce (R-OH) and Earl Blumenauer (D-OR).

Elected officials on both sides of the aisle have been galvanized by Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ threats to legal marijuana. The STATES Act, along with the Marijuana Justice Act introduced in Congress earlier this year, show that Congress is finally taking bold steps toward marijuana legalization.

It’s time for Congress to stand against Sessions’ threats, protect states that have legalized marijuana, and ensure legalization includes racial justice so that communities most harmed by prohibition are not left behind.

Stand with us: urge your Members of Congress to end the federal war on marijuana.
